The history of this place goes back to the Romanesque period, when the bishop#s seat was built here. (Biskupsky Dum means The Bishop#s House). During the following centuries the seat was extended and rebuilt many times. In 1419 the court was burnt down and the walls were used for the construction of houses of Prague bourgeoisie. In the 16th century there was built a new building, the present appearance is from the 19th century. In 1999 the building was comletely reconstructed and nowadays you can find behind the empire facade both comfort and genuine remnants of the past.
